Summary

The 3T Strada is celebrated for its aero efficiency and comfort, blending deep tubing profiles and internal cable routing for reduced drag without sacrificing ride quality. It's noted for its progressive design, handling, and compatibility with wider tires, though some models face criticism for weight and electronic drivetrain exclusivity. The bike excels in real-world aerodynamics and comfort, making it a standout in the aero road category.

Pros
  • Improved aerodynamics with deeper tubing profiles

  • Comfortable on a wide variety of surfaces

  • Progressive design with sharp and engaging handling

  • Integrated cable routing reducing drag

  • Compatible with wide tires for enhanced comfort

Cons
  • Slightly heavy for a premium aero road bike

  • Initial setup complicated due to internal routing

  • Limited to electronic shift drivetrains

  • Noisy disc brake rotors in wet conditions

Bike Test: 3T Strada with SRAM Red eTap AXS

May 2020 · RBA Staff

Without a doubt the 3T Strada is both unique and, at times, a perplexing bike. As big of fans of 1x drivetrains as we are, our ride plans were nonetheless complicated by the limited gear range. On climbing days, the 42t chainring forced us to suffer, and on the fast-paced and flat Montrose ride, we’d go through the gears quicker than we’d want. So, our advice for anyone considering the 1x, think first about what kind of riding you do.
