The Trek Checkpoint SL 7 AXS Gen 3 is the top-level model in the Wisconsin-based brand's revamped gravel/endurance range and it’s a belter, especially for those who like a ride style on the racier side of things. It’s light, flickable, nimble and fast, while also focusing on comfort for those longer tours, plus the addition of plenty of mounting points, internal frame storage and the ability to run wide tyres doesn’t exclude it from the adventure side of things.   • Ride geometry, connection points, smooth gearing, fork width for wide tires. This bike has so many options it’s perfect. Never had a ride I couldn’t go on or was worried about using the bike for. It’s the end all solution.

  • A bit slower on the road than standard road bikes, but swapping out the tires/wheels will get you right back to a road setup.
