Riassunto

The Norco Shore is a downhill-focused bike praised for its high-pivot suspension, offering excellent traction and a plush ride on steep and rough terrain. It's designed for aggressive riders who prioritize downhill performance over climbing efficiency, with a geometry that balances stability and playfulness. While it excels in bike parks and on big jumps, its weight and uphill performance are noted drawbacks.

Pros
  • High-pivot suspension for excellent traction

  • Stable and confident on steep descents

  • Playful handling on jumps and drops

  • Durable construction suitable for freeride

  • Good value for downhill performance

Cons
  • Heavy, affecting climbing efficiency

  • No option for mixed-wheel setup

  • Some noise from the idler pulley

  • Requires an active riding style

  • Limited uphill performance

Key Quotes
The new Norco Shore is a bike that screams.

For a DH-oriented machine, the Shore rides more playfully when hitting big, bike-park style jumps than a full-on downhill race bike.

Norco Shore 1 – Made for bike parks! Right for bike parks?

lug 2021 · Peter Walker

The Norco Shore stands for freeriding! The bulky alloy frame uses a high-pivot suspension design and offers a whopping 180 mm travel. Read the review to find out how Norco’s freeride beast fared in our bike park test.

Pro
  • Lots of reserves

  • Confidence inspiring

  • Enables high speeds on bike park tracks

Contro
  • If you're not careful, you will become a passenger

  • Narrow, slow and winding trails require lots of strength and input from the rider

  • Loud as hell

  • Wheelset doesn't live up to the potential of the bike

New Norco Shore & Shore Park are long-travel high-pivot Big Mountain and Freeride bikes

ott 2020 · Jessie-May Morgan

After a 20 year hiatus, the Norco Shore is back on the freeride menu. You’ll be glad to hear it no longer features the split seat tube and thus, doesn’t look remotely like the original motor-less motocross bike of 2001. Freeride on the North Shore has come a long way since then, and thankfully, so […]

Shore 2 rider review

lug 2023 · EzRyder

I picked one of these up to use pretty much solely at bike parks. I was immediately impressed with how well it climbed (still sucks for climbing becau

Pro
  • It's a tank. Plows through chunder, feels very stable for jumping, and gives you lots of confidence on steep stuff because it's so slack

  • idler setup means there's no pedal kickback and seems smoother overall

  • actually climbs better than I thought (but I thought it would climb like sh**, so it was a low bar to pass)

Contro
  • 27.5" tires do limit how fast this bike can go

  • very lethargic handling until you get up to speed (it needs to go fast to do anything)

  • loud
