Riassunto

The Marin Alpine enduro bike is praised for its powerful motor options, including Bosch and Shimano systems, and its versatile suspension performance across various terrains. Its geometry and adjustable components cater to aggressive riding, though its weight and handling in tight trails are noted drawbacks. The bike is often compared to high-end models like the Santa Cruz Bullit and Canyon Strive:ON for its downhill prowess and value.

Pros
  • Powerful motor options (Bosch and Shimano)

  • Versatile suspension performance

  • Aggressive geometry for downhill riding

  • Adjustable components for personalized setup

  • Good value for high-end performance

Cons
  • Heavy weight affects maneuverability

  • Handling can be challenging in tight trails

  • Some builds have less intuitive motor controls

  • Limited size options in certain models

Key Quotes
Marin calls this new Alpine Trail E Bosch ebike the 'biggest, baddest beast' of their MTB lineup.

If you’re ploughing headlong into the roughest, wildest, and fastest terrain, you’re going to love the Alpine Trail E2's unshakable, steadfast demeanour.
BikeRadar logoBikeRadar
The Alpine Trail E1 reminds me of bikes such as the Santa Cruz Bullit and Canyon Strive:ON. These are burly, yet inspiring and playful bikes.

In the hands of more experienced riders, it’s one of the best e-mountain bikes around.

Marin Alpine Trail XR

ott 2024

A Versatile Enduro Bike Built for Every Adventure

Pro
  • 12 different geometry settings provide a tangible on-trail difference

  • Generous frame protection makes it exceptionally quiet

  • RockShox Ultimate level suspension is hard to come by at this price

Contro
  • Short dropper post, especially for a 160/170 mm bike

  • A few components (SRAM DB8 brakes, OEM wheels) do stand up to the level of abuse the rest of the bike can handle

Review: The New Marin Alpine Trail is More Adjustable & Capable Than Ever

mag 2024 · Jessie-May Morgan

The Alpine Trail moves to a four-bar layout, with twelve geometry configurations to choose from.

Pro
  • Meaningfully adjustable geometry makes it adaptable

  • Very capable on its intended terrain

  • Steep seat tube angle feels great on steep climbs

  • Plenty of seat post insertion depth for long travel droppers

Contro
  • Small cannot mount a water bottle

  • On the heavier side

  • Poor performance of the RockShox Zeb Ultimate (at low pressure) lets the XR AXS model down

2023 Marin Alpine Trail E1 – a different kind of test

gen 2024 · Knut Nes

We picked up the Marin Alpine Trail E1 towards the end of 2023. But thanks to both covid and snow, we barely got to ride it on bare trails. Consequently, most of the testing was done on snow. And it turned out the Alpine Trail E1 was well suited...

Marin Alpine Trail E e-MTB review

ago 2023

Marin’s Alpine Trail E platform has been around for a little while now but its base-level model is the new kid on the block. It brings the performance of its higher-end stable mates to a more accessible price point. The result is a very wisely specced e-MTB that does everything it can to please riders who are after an aggressive, gravity-focussed ride. In the hands of more experienced riders, it’s one of the best e-mountain bikes around but its ride isn’t terribly welcoming to newbies.
