More trail worthy than previous models, the 2022 Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 sport some great improvements, but stop short of perfection.
Hydraulic disc brakes with adjustable reach levers
Microshift Advent 9-speed trigger shifters with clutch derailleur
Lightweight rigid fork (base model)
Slacker, more modern geometry with 68° head tube angle
Dropper post compatible (even 20")
Ground Control 2.35" tires with good traction
Reasonable price ($700 for 24" base)
Low stack height makes it too aggressive for timid riders
Seat post cannot be slammed fully; minimum seat height higher than recommended by Specialized
Handlebar width too wide for some kids (600mm on 20", 620mm on 24")
Weight relatively heavy (22.6 lb / 24.7 lb for base models)
