Résumé
The Giant TCR is celebrated for its well-rounded performance, combining lightweight design, efficient power transfer, and comfortable ride quality, making it a versatile choice for racing and beyond. Its innovative features and competitive pricing further enhance its appeal, though some note limitations in compatibility and upgrade options due to specific design choices.
Lightweight design
Efficient power transfer
Comfortable ride quality
Innovative features
Competitive pricing
Limited compatibility with aftermarket upgrades
Press-fit bottom bracket concerns
Hookless rims limit tyre options
Giant is clearly flexing its muscles pretty hard with its new TCR.
The ride quality is just superbly nuanced.
It has the weight and handling of a pure climber yet also the aggression of an aero road bike, all while having the tyre clearance to make it an all-day cruiser.

A fantastic all-round road bike that delivers in almost every area, but the hookless rims aren't for this tyre obsessive
Solid all-round spec for the price
32mm tyre clearance
Lively ride quality and confident handling
Hookless rims and 1¼in steerer limit aftermarket upgrade options

There's a whole lot of value (and plenty to love) in this mid-tier racer.
Well-rounded attitude and ride quality, low weight, simple servicing, included power meter, wheelset quality, new Fleet saddle, a lot of bike for the money.
Reach (including stock stem) on the long side, some flex in front-centre of frame, compatibility issues of hookless rims, thru-axle handle rattles, press-fit bottom bracket (although Giant do theirs with great tolerances).

Impressive specs abound, but this one wins for a simpler reason.

Lively
Strong all-round package
Partly external cables

We tested out the Ultegra equipped TCR Advanced Pro Disc 1, and held it in higher regard than the pricier TCR SL
Lighter than much of the competition
Great value wheelset
Excellent handling
External cable routing
Lack of aftermarket stems
Saddle may not be for everyone

The latest race bike from Giant claims to offer class-leading aerodynamics, weight and stiffness. We take a look at how that translates to real-world riding
Weight (sub 7kg, size large)
It holds speed over flat and rolling ground well
Power transfer is similar to a dedicated aero bike
Handling confidence takes time to build
The integrated seatpost makes flying with the TCR difficult, but not impossible
No Shimano builds available at Advanced SL level
