Resumen

The Transition TransAm is a versatile enduro hardtail with modern geometry that excels in technical descents and climbs, though it may feel sluggish on flatter terrain. Its aggressive design and sliding dropout configuration offer flexibility for various riding styles, but the heavy build and 150mm fork travel can detract from its efficiency and comfort. Reviews highlight its value and adaptability, despite some limitations in component interchangeability and bikepacking capacity.

Pros
  • Aggressive all-mountain geometry for technical descents

  • Versatile for various types of riding

  • Modern geometry and sliding dropout configuration for drivetrain flexibility

  • Relatively affordable frame-only option

Cons
  • Heavy build kit

  • Sluggish on flatter terrain

  • 150mm fork travel may be excessive for a hardtail

  • 30.9 mm dropper post limits interchangeability

Key Quotes
The TransAm has a very steep seat tube angle (STA). At 76.5°, it doesn’t seem overtly steep on paper, especially when compared to the 77.5° STA specced on the Kona Honzo ESD and the Pipedream Moxie.
BIKEPACKING.com
I personally think 150mm of fork travel is too much for a hardtail in general. That range of variability in the front with a static rear end is excessive, and I would have preferred the TransAm to be designed around a 130-140mm fork.
BIKEPACKING.com
It’s not the 'perfect' bike for any one thing, which means it’s a great bike for everything.
