Resumen
The Giant Revolt is a highly versatile gravel bike, praised for its comfort, handling, and capability on rough terrain. It features a redesigned geometry for aggressive off-road riding, a flip-chip dropout for adjustable tire clearance, and a suspension fork on some models. While it excels in versatility and ride quality, some reviews note limitations like weight and specific component issues.
Redesigned geometry for aggressive off-road riding
Flip-chip dropout for adjustable tire clearance
Versatile with mounts for accessories
Comfortable ride quality
Suspension fork on some models for rougher terrain
Can be heavy, especially with suspension
Some component issues like dropper post adjustability
Limited size range for some specs
Not ideal for fully-loaded bikepacking
Giant figure they could make an even more capable off-road gravel bike for the gnarliest adventure riding & ultra-distance racing… enter the upcoming Revolt X!
The increased clearance and the extended wheelbase also have an effect on the trail, pushing it out to 68mm on this size-large model.
It’s not a go-fast gravel bike that you’d use for something like SBT GRVL or even Unbound Gravel, and it’s obviously not quite a mountain bike. But for that grey area in between, there’s enough capability baked into it that it feels almost irresponsibly fun.

There’s a thought gnawing at me, scratching gently at the bit of my brain where really good thoughts come from.
Ability to eat up rough trails without being totally compromised on easier terrain
Less able on technical rough terrain
Fork isn’t as sensitive as I’d like
Dropper lever only usable from drops
Freehub incredibly loud
Minor toe overlap

The GIANT Revolt X comes with a suspension fork, a dropper post, and a wide range drivetrain. Have they overshot the gravel target, or is it just right?
Great build, great handling, and lots of versatility
Balanced front and rear damping
Lively yet balanced handling
Dropper remote is difficult to reach and gets in the way while riding

Giant’s popular Revolt gravel bike, now with a suspension fork, a dropper seatpost, and fatter tires.
Proven handling
A plush ride
Heaps of capability
Heaps of versatility
Mostly excellent components.
Can’t hide the weight or rolling resistance
Unrefined dropper seatpost
Gratingly loud freehub ratchet
Handling could be more daring.

Hugely capable for a gravel bike
Comfortable, bump-smoothing ride quality
The supple Fox 32 TC fork
Responsive but comfortable CXR X1 wheelset
Supple high volume tyres
Flip chip adds versatility
Huge array of mounting points
