Resumen
The Focus Jam enduro bike is praised for its strong, stiff frame and smooth FOLD suspension, offering high traction and a playful ride. However, it's often noted for being heavy, with some models suffering from linear suspension that lacks support. The bike's geometry and handling are generally well-received, making it a fun choice for technical trails, though climbing efficiency can be compromised by its weight and suspension characteristics.
Strong/stiff frame
Smooth and active FOLD suspension
High traction
Playful and aggressive geometry
Internal storage and clean cable routing
Heavy weight
Linear suspension lacks support
Suspension bobs under power
CIS stem complicates maintenance
Climbing efficiency affected by weight
The Focus Jam 6.9 is a naturally super smooth, high traction and a seriously strong stiff bike that lets you get away with a whole lot without flinching.
More dynamic riders are going to find the very linear suspension lacks support and feels the heat faster than normal on extended descents.
Focus hit the nail on the head if it was aiming for a fun bike.
The FOCUS JAM 8.9 is the cheapest full-suspension bike in our 2022 trail bike group test.
It's not the smuggling capabilities or even the reduced weight that sets it apart from the alloy version, but the suspension products which make it more engaging and predictable.Pinkbike

“What sort of an all-round package and ride performance will a budget of around $5000 get you in 2022? Let’s find out!” Reviewer // Blake Neilsen Photos // Matt Staggs For whatever reason it seems that the majority of the bike’s that we get sent in for review here at [R]evolution have price tags upwards of ten grand, or even more. So when Focus reached out to us and asked if we’d be interested in testing one of their bikes […]

Sticky dropper remote
Rear suspension bobs heavily on climbs
Suspension lacks support and pop

Focus has found an excellent balance that translates to on-trail enjoyment, so long as you aren’t in a rush up the hills
Well thought-out spec
Neat frame storage
Looks smart
A lot of fun on the trail
A bit hefty in weight
CIS stem adds complication if you want/need to change it

It uses the same swingarm as the alloy Jam, plus identical geometry and suspension kinematics, but with a carbon front triangle which not only saves a little weight (the alloy bike was a bit of a porker) but also adds a downtube storage compartment. .

The Focus Jam 6.9 is incredibly clean and it’ll stay that way for a long time because there are no cables scuffing the frame or fork crown.
Super clean internal cable routing
Rear suspension lacks support
sept 2021 · Guy Kesteven
Focus says its Jam is designed to ‘release your inner child’ but the chunky build means big kids get to play rough, too
Seriously strong/stiff frame
Very smooth and active FOLD suspension
Neutral handling on a very stable frame platform
Masses of traction
Solid kit with XT highlights
Space for bottle and frame bag
Very heavy
Linear suspension lacks support
Needs very high shock pressures
CIS stem adds servicing/swap complications
Deore chain and cassette
