A bike with lower gearing will be easier to ride up steep hills, while a higher top end means it will pedal faster down hills.

Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 Review

Nov. 2023 · Natalie Martins

More trail worthy than previous models, the 2022 Specialized Riprock 20 and 24 sport some great improvements, but stop short of perfection.

Höhen
  • Redesigned with slacker, modern geometry

  • Hydraulic disc brakes

  • Internally routed for dropper post

  • Lightweight compared to previous model

  • Affordable price point

  • Microshift Advent trigger shifters with clutch

  • Plug-and-play dropper post compatible

  • Wide handlebars for stability

Tiefs
  • Low stack height may not fit taller kids well

  • Seat post cannot be slammed down fully, limiting minimum seat height

  • Handlebar width too wide for some testers

  • Rigid fork base model may not appeal to all

  • Tires not tubeless-ready on base model

  • Price jump to Expert model is significant

Great kids bike! I really like the lightweight rigid fork at this age, as my kid is not heavy enough to compress most of the suspension forks on bikes

Höhen
  • Rigid fork

  • hydraulic brakes

  • clean design with internal cable routing

Tiefs
  • No quick release clamp for easy height adjustment
