Flagship model weighs just 12.21 kg, and US-spec bikes get a genuinely useful 45 km/h cutoff from the new TQ mid-drive motor.

With a new TQ-HPR50 mid-drive motor hidden inside its frame, the Trek Domane+ SLR 6 2023 goes e-ncognito, promising to deliver an authentic road bike feeling despite its electric motor. But does it actually work?
Balanced weight distribution and good handling
Excellent motor integration
Hardly perceptible noise level
Generous tire clearance
Mudguard mounts ensure good everyday suitability
Disproportionately thick down tube looks awkward

Trek takes a leap forward in its e-road bikes.
The heart of Domane+ AL is its HyDrive motor that provides natural-feeling assist through the rear hub. It’s capable of taking riders up to 55 miles in a single charge thanks to a slim, 250Wh battery that’s integrated inside the down tube. For longer adventures, riders will be pleased to find that they can add a Range Extender battery to their setup to double the assisted riding distance for up to 110mi/177km of ride support.
Trek employs a minimalist display that is mounted flush on the top tube of Domane+ AL, allowing riders to power up their ride, view battery life, and check which assist mode is being used — all without disrupting the clean look of a traditional road bike cockpit.
Domane+ AL puts control in the palm of riders’ hands with intuitive, hood-mounted controls. Riders can easily toggle between the three assist modes with the simple press of a button without ever removing their hands from the bars.
While many entry-level e-bikes come with a hefty weight penalty, Domane+ AL is light enough to handle with ease. It weighs in at just over 30lb, making it easy to carry up stairs, put away after a ride, or lift onto bike racks when heading out for group rides.
Domane+ AL rolls on 700c wheels and features clearance for up to 38mm tires, providing versatility for on-road and off-road exploration. This extra tire clearance partners with endurance-minded frame language that elevates comfort on long miles.
Domane+ AL will begin arriving at Trek retailers in October of 2022.
