This thing rips.
The Remedy feel very planted and grippy, with the supple suspension and generous traction the whole bike confidently glues to the ground where many others would skip about and feel nervous.
It’s not the fastest up any hill but it’s one of the most fun going down.

Which one would you pick? Pinkbike's tech editors choose between the Santa Cruz Bronson, Trek Remedy, Yeti SB150, Kona Process 153, and Specialized Stumpjumper.

Laura Bailey saddles up her new Trek Remedy 8 27.5 Women's in a bid to ascertain whether or not women's specific rigs are worth it.
Well specced components meant no need for immediate upgrades.
Haven’t even noticed that it’s an alloy frame.
Standard Issue Bontrager Tyres have only let me down in the deepest of mud.
Matt finishing touches on the frame scuff too easily.
Women’s finishing kit was pointless and a token effort.
SRAM Guide R Brakes needed bleeding a couple of times.

It’s all about the new RE:aktiv Thru-Shaft… Found on the Remedy, Fuel EX and Slash is a new shock design; RE:aktiv Thru-Shaft. Long story short, by replacing the classic internal floating piston design with a thru-shaft design, there are claims of reduced friction in the whole system. RE:aktiv with Thru Shaft is the latest development …
Everything we love about 27.5" wheels.
Supple suspension and endless grip.
Sorted spec.
MRP chain guide rubs in low gears.
Frequent use of compression adjuster is key to pedal efficiency.

We’ve had the Trek Remedy 9 Race Shop Limited model on test with a spec that’s been tuned for potency. But are these guarantees that this bike can send it.

Trek went deep for 2017 and launched all new models of their Fuel EX, Remedy, and Slash platforms. At their launch event last year in Squamish we were introduced to and rode the first two, but only got a sneak peek of the Slash as its announcement followed about a month later. Go here for a full run down on spec, geo, pricing, and my early ride impressions of the Fuel EX and Remedy, and you can read Perry's Slash review here. The reason I'm starting this Remedy review with all of that info is because Trek didn't just release new versions of those bikes, they also changed the way the lineup looked:
