Riassunto
The Rocky Mountain Maiden is a versatile and fun downhill bike, praised for its stability without added weight, playful feel, and ability to handle rough terrain with ease. Its full carbon frame and adjustable geometry cater to both 26” and 27.5” wheels, making it a standout for downhill mashing and bike park shredding. While the suspension offers good bottom out protection, some riders note it lacks sensitivity in the back.
Stability without the weight
Fun choice for downhill mashing and bike park shredding
Full carbon frame including the rocker link
Compatible with both 26” and 27.5” wheels
Super stiff and durable connection to the frame
Suspension doesn’t offer the most sensitive feel in the back
Front ends fit a bit on the shorter side
The Maiden rides with the stability of a much bulkier bike without the weight, gracefully tapping the trail like Kirk Hammet’s fingers on a fretboard.
The Maiden provided the most fun I’ve had on a downhill bike since the 26” Specialized Demo.
Boasting a completely carbon fiber frame, 200mm of four-bar travel and versatile adjustability, the Maiden has all the key ingredients to make it a top-notch descender.

Rocky Mountain’s Maiden World Cup, the flying grape, as we affectionately call it, is a stiff, burly DH machine. But is it the best sled in the shed?

[ad3] “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.” – Henry Ford As mountain bikers, deep down we all have the urge to build up a custom bike but it’s pretty rare that we get to act on it. A few months back we decided to slowly piece together a “Dream Bike” and run a feature that was an “editor’s choice” type piece in the form of a complete downhill bike. It’s taken a while to get everything together, but this is what we came up with…We tested the Rocky Mountain Maiden

The Rocky Mountain Maiden may have taken a while to emerge from the womb, but on first impressions, Rocky Mountain has pulled off an immaculate conception.
Great-looking frame, sweet handling, doesn’t turn its back on 26in wheels.
BOS suspension requires reading the manual. Expect some play from the fork bushings out of the box, wide stays equal heel scuffs, coil shock means faffing around with spring rates.

It’s been a long time in the works, but the new Rocky Mountain Maiden is finally ready to take center stage. The Maiden rides with the stability of a much bulkier bike without the weight, gracefully tapping the trail like Kirk Hammet’s fingers on a fretboard. I only had the opportunity to take a few …

Rocky Mountain Bicycles has a new downhill bike. That’s not exactly surprising news. It was obvious that the BC-based company was working on something new when we saw Vanderham and Gulevich riding test mules at numerous events last year. More recently, a carbon prototype was “leaked” at Leogang last month. Early this week, Rocky invited […]

Optimized for either 26” or 27.5” wheels, the Rocky Mountain Maiden’s four bar Smoothlink suspension rotates on oversized bearings and collet axles. New braking technology, integrated frame protection, and electronics compatibility are some of the highlights. - Mtbr.com
