This is the kind of bike where you can let off the brakes and trust that everything will be all right – it delivers a level of composed stability that's more typically associated with a downhill bike.

[Test] Pole Machine TB

  • Pricey for an aluminum frame

  • Riders without technical terrain nearby should look elsewhere

  • Frame construction technique isn't entirely proven in mountain bike world

  • Addictively speed-hungry and easy to ride fast on gnarly terrain

  • Comfortable on the climbs thanks to efficient suspension and steep seat angle

Contro
  • Long wheelbase takes strength and technique to manual properly

  • Innovation isn’t cheap, and be prepared to wait if you want one
