Riassunto
The Merida Big.Trail is a versatile and affordable trail hardtail designed for a wide range of riders, offering a blend of cross-country and enduro-style geometry. It features a sleek aluminum frame, modern trail geometry, and a 140mm travel suspension fork, making it capable on a variety of trails. While it excels in handling and climbing, some riders may find the reach short and the brakes less impressive.
Versatile frame with modern trail geometry
Affordable with thoughtful components
Excellent fork choice for hard-working trail hardtails
Good balance of grip and support from Maxxis Dissector tyres
Crisp and precise shifts from the 1×12 Deore drivetrain
Short reach may limit full potential for some riders
Shimano brakes lack punch in wet conditions
Low BB can lead to crank clearance issues on rough trails
Merida has made a big play out of consulting with its UK dealers to create the all-new Big.Trail all-rounder.
The Big.Trail is built for big trail fun on a budget.
The Big.Trail is a composed ride that won’t make all-day adventuring an uncomfortable experience.

As versatile as it is great fun to ride, the Big.Trail is a well-designed and very competent bike
Versatile frame
Short seat tubes make it easy to size up to get the handling feel you’re after
Presence of chain guide
Tall stack means you may need to play with bar height
Not much in the way of frame protection

When Merida first introduced the Big.Trail, it served as the brand’s entry into the world of 27.5+. Recently though, in an effort to create a hardtail mountain bike worthy of more challenging terrain, Merida says that their R&D team met with some top UK retailers to discuss the future of the platform. Unsurprisingly, the result […]
