This bike will take on any trail you’re brave enough to throw it down. A few minor spec changes would really elevate its performance
Spec impressive considering price
Good geometry
Capable at speed
Better-spec brake levers would help add more confidence
Bottle won’t fit on smaller frame sizes despite mounts being included

And what compromises have been made to get it down to this price point? Read on for our Marin Alpine Trail review.
Extraordinarily capable bike for the money
Totally solid & quiet on rough trails
Loves to corner aggressively and descend like a hooligan
Top-notch suspension that's easy to setup
Tyres offer fantastic all-condition grip
Powerful brakes with big rotors & metal pads
Rear wheel de-tensioned during first ride
Pivot hardware came loose
Not the lightest bike around
Dropper post lever is a bit wiggly & cheap
