Moderate travel may limit aggressive riding
Some components may be overkill for certain riders

The Alpine Trail Carbon is such a good value that it’s hard to avoid.
Marin say they wanted to make the strongest and stiffest Alpine Trail to date.
The instant I threw a leg over the new one, I could tell the bar had been raised.
It loves to pop a manual and loft the front wheel when directed, delivering an involving ride quality that is nicely balanced against its descending muscle.

Marin has stepped up its Alpine Trail bikes in some big ways, including adding a carbon version that could very well be one of the best bang-for-your-buck

Extraordinarily capable bike for the money
Totally solid & quiet on rough trails
Loves to corner aggressively and descend like a hooligan
Top-notch suspension that's easy to setup
Tyres offer fantastic all-condition grip
Powerful brakes with big rotors & metal pads
Rear wheel de-tensioned during first ride
Pivot hardware came loose
Not the lightest bike around
Dropper post lever is a bit wiggly & cheap

WIth moderate, supportive travel, aggressive geometry and even more aggressive spec, the Alpine Trail Carbon is here to party ... at $4,100!
Amazing value
Modern, aggressive geometry
High-end spec where it counts and not where it doesn't
Comfortable climbing geometry
Moderate travel may be overwhelmed by aggressive spec and geo
Fox 38 fork may be overkill for some riders
Not a fast climber

You’ll want to do lap after lap on this capable, fast trail bike.

Modern numbers, sharp handling, lots of suspension travel and 29-inch wheels for under $3,000.
Good climber for a 33-pound, 150mm bike
Solid, we-can-do-this handling
Contemporary geometry
Tires miss the mark
Restricted seatpost insertion depth

Marin's high-value, high-speed long-travel 29er, the Alpine Trail 8, doesn't do every little thing perfectly. Just most little things.
