Riassunto

The Giant Reign is a versatile enduro bike with a mix of high-performance features and some limitations. Its Maestro suspension is praised for being active and cushioned, offering a floaty feel that handles stutter bumps well. However, the bike's pedaling efficiency and fork smoothness are noted as areas for improvement. The Reign is competitive in price and lightweight for its category, but some components and design choices may not suit all riders or conditions.

Pros
  • Competitive price for the level of finish and components

  • Lightweight for its price and travel

  • Active and cushioned Maestro suspension

  • Good value build with reliable Deore brakes and gears

  • Unique character and fun riding experience

Cons
  • Fork lacks smoothness compared to the rear suspension

  • Pedaling efficiency could be improved

  • Some components like the Praxis Wave chainring have design flaws

  • Suspension reaches its limit on very rough tracks

  • Sizing and seat tube length may limit dropper post options

Key Quotes
The Reign’s poor manners under power feel more a consequence of a slightly egg-shaped and inefficient pedal cycle

The 2021 GIANT Reign Advanced Pro 0 review – Let's get rowdy!

gen 2021 · Christoph Bayer

There are bikes that make it easy to ride fast. They offer a lot of grip, the rider is positioned centrally on the bike and they're easy to handle. The GIANT Reign is NOT that kind of bike. Still, it's a lot of fun!

Pro
  • Good poppy suspension

  • A lot of fun with an active riding style

  • Its length adds stability in steep terrain

Contro
  • Suspension reaches its limit on rough tracks

  • Requires an active riding style

  • Sizing excludes a lot of riders

Giant Reign 29 1 review

apr 2020 · Robin Weaver

The new Reign offers a very lively, dynamic ride but get it into the really rough stuff and it feels more like a long-travel trail bike than a mini downhill rig

Pro
  • Fox fork and shock offer plenty of useful adjustment and a really smooth, controlled feel

  • Decent geometry

Contro
  • Dropper post needs to be longer on the medium

  • Very direct feel with quite a bit of feedback so not the comfiest bike on rough trails

The new Reign has a lot going for it—it’s a looker, it climbs and descends beautifully, and above all it’s fun.

[First Ride] Giant Reign Advanced 29

ago 2019 · Simon Silver

To commence the launch of the new 29″ Reign series, Giant selected a world class destination of Revelstoke, British Columbia to give us an opportunity to try out the new bike. We can confidently say that the trails in and around Revelstoke provided the perfect testing grounds for the bike. A good pedal, some truck assisted shuttles, and a 8,500 ft descent through rooty, loose, and loamy single track via a Helicopter drop gave us more than an adequate feeling of how the new Reign rides. For a quick look at our Heli drop, check out the video below, and
