Riassunto

The Giant Trance is celebrated for its versatility, excelling as both an aggressive trail bike and a capable enduro rig. Its suspension performance, particularly the Maestro system, is frequently praised for providing excellent traction and a supple ride. While the bike offers great value and is well-equipped, some reviews note limitations in stock components like the fork and tires, which may require upgrades for optimal performance.

Pros
  • Versatile, suitable for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing

  • Excellent suspension performance with the Maestro system

  • Great value for the price, often well-equipped out of the box

  • Lightweight and efficient climbing capabilities

  • Stable and predictable handling on descents

Cons
  • Stock components like the fork and tires may need upgrading

  • Low bottom bracket height can lead to pedal strikes

  • Some builds may lack the stiffness or control desired for rough terrain

Tested: Giant Trance Advanced 27.5 1

nov 2015

Choosing the right bike is a seriously tough decision. Ideally you would need at least six bikes to have it covered, right? But we also know that often reality has other plans, so it’s back to the drawing board, and deciding on the perfect steed that will do all the things you wish. In the …

Pro
  • So light.

  • Stellar Shimano XT.

  • Top-shelf FOX suspension.

  • Do-it-all ride anywhere ability.

  • Sturdy descender.

Contro
  • Narrow rims hold the bike back on rougher trails.

There are carbon frames that cost nearly as much as this bike–Giant's least expensive carbon Trance. So what's the catch? Are the parts crap?

Giant Trance Advanced 27.5 2 (2014) longterm review - MBR

feb 2015 · Alan Muldoon

Giant Trance Advanced 27.5 2 review

Pro
  • Rock-solid durability and reliability meant that with even minimal servicing the Trance was always ready to go

  • Suspension is easy to set up and get to a good place, but there’s more potential in the shock tuning

  • Long, slack geometry makes it a very capable bike on more demanding trails

Contro
  • The Trance really needs a shorter stem and wider handlebar out of the box to support the capability of the frame and geometry

  • The Overdrive 2 tapered head tube — thankfully it’s been dropped on 2015 bikes as it severely limited stem choice

  • A carbon frame is nice, but eats massively into the budget and the finishing kit, wheels and suspension take a hit
