Riassunto
The Canyon Grizl is a versatile and well-designed gravel bike that excels in mixed terrain and adventure riding. It offers a comfortable and stable geometry, ample tire clearance up to 50mm, and features like multiple mounts for bikepacking. Reviews highlight its excellent value, capable handling, and suitability for long, rough adventures.
Good value for money
Ample tire clearance for up to 50mm tires
Comfortable and stable geometry for varied terrain
Multiple mounts for bags and accessories
Versatile and capable of handling rough gravel
Heavier weight compared to some alternatives
Rattling or semi-integrated cabling
Lower spec groupset on some builds
Limited suspension damping in rigid models
Fewer accessory mounts on suspension versions
Canyon has cleverly designed the chainstays to kink outwards near where the tire sits, providing more tire clearance, up to 50mm.
Canyon’s claim of ‘all-you-might-ever-need gravel bike’ stands true to the test.
It’s a rugged workhorse of a bike that somehow never seems to teeter too far in any one direction.
The Grizl is an excellent gravel all-rounder, and missed out on the top spot by a narrow margin.
The Grizl 7 Suspension inspires confidence on the descent thanks in no small part to the suspension fork and wide tires. This bike rips.

Canyon released the second generation of the Grizl platform back in July 2025, placing a special focus on its adventure gravel credentials and ability to bag big miles in the saddle. With the new model, Canyon has divided the range into two distinct lines: the Grizl OG (or Original Graveller) and the more adventurous, bikepacking-focused Grizl Escape models. Pictured here is the Canyon Grizl CF 7, which forms part of the OG line but still promises utility at a reasonably high level. Is Canyon working on an all new gravel fork?

Canyon's latest bike is a full-on love letter to bikepacking. Read our Canyon Grizl Escape ECLIPS review here...
The most feature-rich bikepacking rig I’ve tested
ECLIPS system is pretty slick
Fidlock frame bag is very well designed
Stable and inspring geometry
Great value for what you get
Internal frame storage for the win!
Loads of bikepacking accessories offered that fit seamlessly
Incredibly lightweight, even with racks and lighting system
Could use more tire clearance
Stiff ride overall
Odd bike sizing
Internal headset routing
Full Mounty is not adjustable and won’t accommodate most aftermarket bikepacking bags
Rear rack mounts are not universal

The new Grizl might be Canyon most creatively-spec'd gravel bike yet. Too bad the US is only three of only eight builds. Here's what we know.

I tested the burly, top spec Grizl:ON which can cut it easily on MTB trails
Very versatile thanks to the power on-tap
Stylish looks
Will be at home comfortably in MTB terrain
Clever light and frame bag system
A mode adjust button on the handlebars from the factory would help
Some audible rattle over rougher ground
Some motor drag/lag on more technical terrain
