Aventon Aventure.2 E-Bike Review, 2024

Apr 2024

Price: $1799.00 | Model Year: 2023 | Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and the Aventon Aventure has been imitated (ok, a better word is probably copied) several times the last 2-3 years. With so much competition and brands creating 26” x 4” fat tire ebikes, I was surprised at how the Aventure.2 not only still holds its own vs the competition but is still one of, if not the, best rear hub fat tire electric bikes.

Observations
  • Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and the Aventon Aventure has been imitated (ok, a better word is probably copied) several times the last 2-3 years. With so much competition and brands creating 26” x 4” fat tire ebikes, I was surprised at how the Aventure.2 not only still holds its own vs the competition but is still one of, if not the, best rear hub fat tire electric bikes.

  • If I’m going to sum this e-bike up in a word, that word is versatility. Few e-bikes are as capable at going offroad as they are at making daily commutes. Thanks to a remarkably stable ride and solid feel, this is one fat-tire e-bike that can handle Class 3 speeds (28 mph maximum pedal assist) and leave the rider feeling confident. It has a 400-lb. weight limit. I’ve put some big riders on it, and anyone who is upward of 250 lbs. should consider this e-bike. The aluminum alloy frame offers terrific stiffness.

  • The torque sensor is one of the big highlights of this e-bike; it’s one of the biggest upgrades compared to the previous version. It gives the Aventure.2 a more dialed feel. More pressure on the pedals means more power from the motor. It gives the e-bike a more natural feel and a better experience overall than compared to a cadence sensor. A torque sensor allows you to regulate your own speed by pedal pressure alone.

  • The combination of fat tires, good saddle shape, wide bar with both sweep and rise and a suspension fork make this an unusually comfortable e-bike. When people try this e-bike they comment on how comfortable it is. CHECK BEST PRICE

Aventon Ramblas eMTB Review, 2024 | New Best Budget eMTB?

Mar 2024 · Griffin Hales

A full power, mid-drive motor and quality specs make the Aventon Ramblas a great eMTB at a very attractive price. Read our full review to learn more.

Highs
  • Climbing is made easier thanks to the higher-than-most torque output of Aventon’s custom mid-drive motor

  • Four different frame sizes to help rider’s find their right fit. More options than most affordable brands provide

  • More of a general point: Aventon made the most of their budget including lots of name brand parts, and not skimping on things like a drivetrain with fewer gears, a smaller battery, etc.

  • Great range for longer riding sessions. The 706Wh battery achieved top 5 results in our range testing

  • Riders can more easily handle technical terrain with the nearly 500% range of the Sram Eagle NX/SX drivetrain

  • 4-piston SRAM DB8 brake calipers provide more stopping power than typical disc brakes

  • Aventon included a dropper post that will enable riders to lower the saddle on the fly for steep descents; these are important for eMTBs

  • Maxxis Rekon tires held up well and had great traction for holding lines.

Lows
  • We liked the tires, but we wish it was a tubeless ready system

  • The RockShox fork had great performance, but there is no compression adjustment. Riders 240 lbs+ might experience more sag than is preferred

Aventon Ramblas EMTB Review, 2024

Feb 2024

Price: $2699.00 | Model Year: 2024 | Aventon has just added a new e-bike to their lineup. It’s called the Ramblas and it is an electric mountain bike. We’ve loved the off-road abilities of Aventon’s fat-tire e-bikes, like the Aventure 2, but the Ramblas marks a new chapter in Aventon’s growth as an e-bike brand. In our Aventon Ramblas review we will demonstrate just how capable this e-bike is.

Observations
  • Aventon has just added a new e-bike to their lineup.

  • Let’s begin with the basics. The Ramblas is a hard-tail eMTB built around a 6061 heat-treated aluminum frame and 130mm-travel RockShox 35 Silver suspension fork. It’s made in four sizes (S-XL). Providing the muscle for the Ramblas is a new motor from Aventon, the A100.

  • Not everything that gets called an eMTB really is, but Aventon has done an impressive job. The Ramblas features a 12-speed drivetrain, 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes and a dropper post. They also got the geometry right; the Ramblas handles like what I would expect an eMTB to perform.

  • Aventon enters full speed into the the eMTB category with a powerful, fun hardtail…and a very attractive, sub $3,000 price tag. CHECK BEST PRICE
