Résumé
The Transition Sentinel is a versatile and lively enduro bike that excels in a variety of terrains, offering a balanced and intuitive handling experience. Its well-tuned suspension and composed nature at speed make it a reliable choice for aggressive riders, though it may require an active riding style to fully exploit its capabilities. While it pedals efficiently and climbs well, some riders may find the rear wheel traction and downhill performance areas for improvement.

Well-tuned and smooth suspension
Balanced and intuitive handling
Surprisingly deft climber with satisfying efficiency
Composed bike at speed and free of drama in the steeps

Initial acclimation period needed for rear wheel traction
Not the best for outright downhill performance
There are many good trail bikes available today. I’ve tested many of them, and the new Transtition Sentinal is one of the very best.Bicycling
The Transition Sentinel Carbon XT is a bike with a strong character.
The Sentinel is a bit more subtle until you turn up the volume, and then you realize it's just as bad ass, but it's also more fun than the Enduro in lower angle terrain.

In July I attended the launch of a new bike which I’ve given very high praise in its past iteration – the Transition Sentinel. Now in its third time around, the already highly versatile rig boasts updated geometry and improved kinematics as well as downtube storage, fully internal cable routing and a flip chip. I managed to get a few solid rides in on the new bike deep in the middle of Summer. Luckily, that coincided with a one-off rain storm that revitalized the local soil during an atypically dry Summer in Bellingham, Washington. The trails I rode included all

The Sentinel has always been known as a trail bike that can be bent to fit different categories. The latest version continues the tradition.
Climbs better than ever due to tweaked leverage curve
Rewards aggression with control and precision on descents
Still capable on chill days
Stable geometry, fits long torsos well
Quiet bike with good guards and protection
BOOM Box in-frame storage well-designed
Size-specific chain stays across all sizes
Not the best climber in category
DT Swiss M1900 wheels heavy but durable
Frame only pricing not great value

As is stock, it was provided with dual 29" wheels, with the 205mm x 60mm shock giving 150mm of rear wheel travel.

I’m never going to threaten the podium at an enduro race — but the Transition Sentinel made me feel as if I could, and ride as if I should.
Super-nimble ride feel for such a large bike
Improved shock mount
Flip-chip allows for mixed wheel setup
Needs to be locked out to climb well
Might take some work to get the correct sizing
Seat clamp bolt could be recessed for weather protection
