Résumé

The Specialized Roubaix is celebrated for its exceptional comfort and innovative Future Shock suspension, which effectively smooths out rough roads, making it a standout in the endurance category. While it offers a balanced ride quality and impressive handling, some reviews note its higher price point and the lack of certain adjustments in the Future Shock system as drawbacks. Comparisons often highlight its relation to the Specialized Tarmac, with the Roubaix being the more comfort-oriented option.

In the past I definitely would not have considered myself a Roubaix customer, but now I’d have to reconsider.

Specialized launched the Roubaix with the tagline 'smoother is faster' and I’m inclined to agree.

  • Seatpost flex makes long rides a breeze

  • Race levels of stiffness and power transfer

Points faibles
  • No mudguard mounts

  • Difficult to work on

  • Expensive

Gallery: Peter Sagan's non-Di2 Specialized for Paris-Roubaix

oct. 2021 · Ben Delaney

Shimano’s latest R9200 Dura-Ace group has a few options, but none of them include mechanical shifting; it’s Di2 only for Shimano’s top racing group from here on out. At Paris-Roubaix, Peter Sagan has voted with his bike that he prefers still mechanical shifting for the world’s hardest cobblestone race, thank you very much. In 2018, … Continued

Specialized Roubaix Expert long-term review

déc. 2020 · Matthew Loveridge

I wish it had mudguard mounts and it's certainly not cheap, but the Roubaix Expert is an exceptionally good bike. I’m starting to wish my other bikes had a Future Shock

Points forts
  • Future Shock works beautifully and ride quality is perfectly balanced front to rear

  • Big spec

  • Lovely paint job

Points faibles
  • There’s no ignoring the price

  • Cable routing at the bar could be neater

  • The Future Shock adjuster is surprisingly easy to break (if you’re an idiot like me)

  • 2021 model is arguably less good value

Specialized Roubaix Comp Ultegra Di2 2020

févr. 2020 · Stu Kerton

Fast, sweet-handling bike with great comfort levels, but I'd like some control over the spring rate

Points forts
  • Handling unaffected by rough roads at speed

  • Ultegra Di2 groupset is faultless in use

Points faibles
  • No lockout on Future Shock, which means it bounces under hard efforts

Review: Specialized's all-new Roubaix, a Spring Classics road bike for everyone

avr. 2019 · Veronika Benson

At the peak of the Spring Classics, we had the chance to put Specialized’s all-new Future Shock 2.0 front suspension Roubaix endurance road bike to a true test on the bergs, pavé & wind swept roads that define those iconic one-day races. While the Roubaix certainly proved its mettle with Phillipe Gilbert winning Paris-Roubaix on …
