Résumé
The Scott Ransom is a versatile enduro bike praised for its plush suspension, intuitive handling, and efficient climbing capabilities. It offers a mix of confidence and stability, making it suitable for a wide range of trails. However, some reviews note limitations in tyre traction and a harsh ride at times.
Plush suspension with nice progression for big hit performance
Intuitive handling and stable geometry
Efficient climbing capabilities
Versatile long-travel enduro-sled
Top-notch power and modulation on the motor
Tyre traction very limited
Undamped and harsh ride at times
Tall frame limits size choice
Lack of chemical traction on wet roots and rocks
Maxxis Dissector tire may not be aggressive enough for some conditions
The Ransom’s tyres limit how hard it can be pushed and how much it helps you out on the types of trails its long travel and burly components will have you instinctively aiming for.
With the Ransom, the TwinLoc system can be both a curse and a blessing.
The Ransom eRIDE actually delivers the all-round capabilities that you'd expect from bikes with less travel. It's a great climber and at the same time the right tool for pinning down rough, technical trails, thanks to a stable geometry helped by long chainstays, although that last feature might discourage people from giving the bike a go, at least on paper.Pinkbike

With its hidden shock and curious 6-bar suspension linkage, the Scott Ransom offers a remarkable degree of versatility for a big enduro bike.
Unique frame design
Great pedal efficiency for a big enduro bike
Mullet compatibility
Adjustable head angle
Syncros Matchbox Tool Kit included with bike
Great tyre spec
The one-piece cockpit limits adjustability
Headset cable routing will turn off some riders
Rear wheel lost spoke tension

I review the all-new Scott Ransom 900 RC enduro bike & was blown away by 1 key tech feature. What is Trac-Loc & why I need it on all my bikes?

févr. 2024 · Robert Johnston
The Scott Ransom 900 RC is a certified ripper, there’s no question about it. With descending confidence that rivals the best of them.

févr. 2024 · Marco Toniolo
The Scott Ransom was the Swiss brand's latest full suspended mountan bike that was not given the all-integrated look we saw for the Spark and Genius (with the exception of the Gambler).

févr. 2024 · Seb Stott
The new Ransom combines long-travel capability with impressive climbing composure.
Long-travel yet well-controlled suspension boosts downhill capability
Stable but balanced geometry with useful adjustability
Pedal-efficient suspension, which benefits from but doesn't rely on the TracLoc shock, makes for one of the best climbing enduro bikes
Shock is protected from mud and debris
I needed the saddle fully forward to reach my preferred position
Six-bar suspension and headset cable routing could be tricky to work on
Not exactly great value on paper

It’s fun and intuitive to ride, but isn’t quite as calm or controlled on trails as the suspension travel and component spec would lead you to believe
Intuitive to ride quickly
Bosch motor feels great
Fox dampers are easy to set up
Mostly well-specced
Tyre traction very limited
Undamped and harsh ride at times
Tall frame limits size choice

Travis Engel's Scott Ransom is still his one and only, marking the first time we've picked the same bike for a Dream Build two years in a row.
