Résumé
The Rose Backroad is a versatile gravel bike praised for its intuitive handling, clean design, and value for money. It offers a stable and fun ride, with a stiff frame that excels in performance without sacrificing too much comfort. The bike is well-equipped for gravel adventures, featuring ample tire clearances and a high-quality finish, though some riders may find the front end too tall for aggressive racing.
Intuitive handling and stable at speed
Clean design with internal routing
High quality finish and attention to detail
Ample tire clearances for versatility
Competitively priced for the spec
Overly tall front end for aggressive riders
Stiff frame prioritizes performance over comfort
Some limitations in tire and light compatibility
One of the most cleverly designed frame platforms in the entry-level segment.
It's fun, a lot of fun, and the stiff frame gives a lot of very useable feedback which helps you pick your line.
Rose has done a very good job of balancing performance against comfort, and the handling works a treat.

Rose has entered the growing allroad/gravel/adventure bike market with the Backroad, and this Shimano 105-equipped model offers good performance with enough versatility to chuck it into service as a commuter or touring bike when you’re not micro adventuring. The ride quality will appeal more to speed merchants than comfort seekers though.
