Radon Swoop 10.0: first ride review - MBR

mai 2021 · Alan Muldoon

Radon Swoop 10.0 is a 29er enduro bike with 170mm travel at both ends. Carbon front triangle with alloy stays. M, L and XL frame sizes.

Points forts
  • Versatile big rig that doesn’t get bogged down in its travel. Fun, playful ride that’s killer value for money. Radon hasn’t tried to push the boat out with extreme geometry or sizing and as a result the bike is super-easy to ride. Will serve dual duty as a long-travel trail bike.

Points faibles
  • Only available in three frame sizes. No water bottle mount. 2020 discounted bikes are sold out.

Radon Swoop 8.0 2019 Review – High performance on a budget

avr. 2019 · Christoph Bayer

The Radon Swoop 8.0 2019 is a non-nonsense 29er enduro bike. It's geometry and value for money look great on paper, but how does it perform on the trails?

Points forts
  • Great spec

  • Outstanding value for money

  • Very balanced handling

  • Excellent suspension

Points faibles
  • Constantly dragging/noisy brake rotors

  • Low engagement hub

  • Frame details look a bit rustic

Radon Swoop 170 8.0 review

avr. 2017 · Rob Weaver

Superb geometry, well-balanced suspension and a killer spec list for the money. The Swoop’s credentials and ride behaviour are seriously impressive and give you confidence when tackling just about any trail out there. Buy if you want a hard hitting trail bike with well-balanced suspension, fantastic geometry and a great spec, all at a good price

Points forts
  • Bang up to date geometry with great angles and three totally usable geometry settings

  • Great spec with some top-end kit, which is fantastic considering the price

  • The Vivid Air means even more adjustment allowing you to really get the Swoop dialled in

  • In the lowest setting, the 21mm bottom helps contribute to one of the most planted, confident rides we’ve ever experienced

  • The relatively steep seat angle helps with climbing

  • Suspension balance and overall composure is hard to fault

  • Pedals well considering the amount of travel on tap

Points faibles
  • Tyres aren’t as tough or as tacky as they need to be

  • Lack of low speed compression lever/climb switch means climbing isn’t as efficient as it could be

  • Not in the shops

  • Not a particularly long effective top tube so doesn’t feel as stretched as others when sat down pedalling
