It's praised for its value, durability, and fun ride quality, though it's noted for being on the heavier side and may not fit shorter riders perfectly.

Pros
  • Progressive, future-proof geometry

  • Superb climbing ability

  • Plush and supportive suspension

  • Competitive pricing

  • Versatile and fun on any trail

Cons
  • Riders shorter than 5-foot-3 may not fit the smallest frame

  • Suspension can get overwhelmed over tech at high speeds

Key Quotes
The Privateer 141 is not only a worthy addition to the mid-travel 29er category, it fills a space that will always need filling no matter how crowded the market gets: a bike that is well-priced, well-designed, well-rounded and damn fun.

Privateer 141 GX Pike review

oct. 2022

The Privateer 141 brings everything we liked about the 161 but puts it in a more trail friendly package. While it may not be the prettiest or lightest of bikes out there the Privateer 141’s user friendliness and excellent kit list, combined with its forward-thinking geometry result in a bike that's as versatile as it is fun, making it one of the best trail mountain bikes you can buy. Is this the ultimate trail bike?

  • Specced with practical and durable parts

Points faibles
  • Riders shorter than 5-foot-3 may not be able to fit the smallest frame

Review: The Privateer Bikes 141 Is A Little Bike with Big Intentions

mai 2021 · Dan Roberts

The Privateer 141 is fast and capable, although it's a little rough around the edges.

Points forts
  • Stable and balanced geo and suspension

  • Much more bike in real life than on paper

  • A lot of bike for the money, if you like aggressive riding

Points faibles
  • Pretty damn weighty frame

  • Frame details have room for improvement - cable routing, sharp edges, frame protection
