Résumé

The Pivot Phoenix downhill bike is praised for its innovative design and performance, featuring a mid-high pivot six-bar dw-link suspension that excels in handling square-edge bumps and a dual chain design for efficiency and quiet operation. Its suspension progressivity flip chip and MX wheel setup contribute to a customizable and faster ride. However, some reviews note the lack of dropper post routing and the limitation to a 200/203mm rotor on the rear as drawbacks.

Pros
  • Mid-High Pivot Six-Bar dw-link suspension design for superior bump performance

  • Dual chain design enhances efficiency and reduces noise

  • Suspension Progressivity Flip Chip allows for ride customization

  • MX wheel setup with increased travel improves speed

  • Lightweight frame design

Cons
  • No dropper post routing, requires wireless dropper

  • Limited to 200/203mm rotor on the rear

  • Proprietary main chainring

Drew’s Pivot Phoenix Custom Build

oct. 2024 · Drew Rohde

I’ve been fortunate enough to work full time testing and reviewing bikes for roughly 15 years now. I spent the first 5 years like most bike industry nerds, buying a new bike every season as I always wanted to have the latest and greatest as my “personal test mule.” It took me about that long to realize, I was so busy testing and riding other people’s bikes, that I never got the chance to ride my own. Because of that, I stopped buying bikes around 2015 as I just never got to ride them and it hurt my feelings to have such beautiful, customized bikes sitting around collecting dust. I am thrilled to say, I’ve broken the streak, and I will be making time to ride my recently purchased, Pivot Phoenix DH bike.
