From fast-paced, flowy trail rides with lots of climbing to well-traveled, beat-up, chunky steep descents, the V3 Switchblade pushes the fun factor a bit farther out on both sides of the all-mountain spectrum. Have Pivot's recent updates to its popular Switchblade trail bike done enough to warrant its superbike pricing?
Lively engaging ride
Sorted suspension
Riding position is pretty much perfect for me
User-friendly cable routing
Option to run a mullet setup
Wheel spec is disappointing for £9k
Lack of internal storage may put some off
Could do with a longer dropper post as standard
A 10-year instead of a lifetime warranty

It’s been a few years since I had the pleasure of riding the previous Pivot Switchblade. This is a model that has risen to legendary status in my mind. The updated frame has maintained many attributes of the outgoing Switchblade but turned up the dial on speed and stability by just a few notches. I can imagine the development team’s struggle to improve upon the outgoing bike without sacrificing its keen sense of handling and agility. Thankfully, the new bike has the same agile character with a slight tweak toward better high-speed handling and chunk-eating kinematics.

Pivot once again has a new Switchblade, which Pivot claims has a lot of small changes that add up to a big difference.

Mit dem Pivot Switchblade Team XX AXS Transmission 2024 wird der Alleskönner neu aufgelegt. Wir haben das Trailbike für euch getestet.
Confidence inspiring
Excellent suspension
Classy design
Efficient climber
Tires don’t do justice to the bike’s potential
The cables rattle slightly
Can feel too direct and too stiff

The Switchblade receives geometry updates and a few frame refinements for 2024.

If you are looking for a do-it-all bike that can either billy-goat around natural, ungroomed trails or can be as exact as a surgeon’s scalpel on the trail, the Switchblade is a standout
Boutique looks at DTC price
Dealer support and service
Unmatched fit and finish at this price
Lively, active and fun ride characteristic
Suspension versatility
Spec can always be criticized, but it did well.
