Résumé
The Orbea Orca is celebrated for its well-rounded performance as a race bike, featuring neat integration, sharp handling, and effective aerodynamics. While it offers a beautifully matured design and smart solutions like integrated cables and aero tube shapes, it is noted to be a little heavy and not as light as some competitors. The bike excels in ride quality and efficiency, with a solid spine that ensures no effort is wasted, especially on climbs.

The OMX is a refined rosé, blending the best qualities of both.
The bike’s solid spine made it feel like I wasn’t wasting any effort when testing the bike up short, sharp inclines.
Packs in performance and value in equal measure
It’s more comfortable than I’d have predicted

The frameset and components are great performers that look fantastic, and the customisation options mean it can be specced to meet your precise needs. The Orca OMR is somewhat torn between being a racer or an endurance road bike, though, and the addition of a Di2 groupset means significant spec compromises on the wheels and tyres at this price point
Comfortable ride quality with confident handling
High quality finishing kit
35mm tyre clearance
Customisation options
Lacklustre wheels and tyres
Not particularly lightweight
No mudguard mounts

Orbea has always proudly touted its Basque heritage, and its latest Orca road racer is a strong testament to the brand’s lengthy experience in the category. Just like those orange-clad riders in Tours de France of yore, the Orca is a superb climber whose only limitation when the road heads skyward is the ability of […]
