2020 Orange Five RS: first ride review - MBR

avr. 2019 · Jamie Darlow

The Orange Five certainly isn’t new, but the Halifax brand has made significant changes for 2020 that pep up this trail riding classic.

Points forts
  • More progressive suspension and a host of geometry and size changes make the Five more fun and capable. Looks better too with improved cable routing and tubing shapes.

Points faibles
  • Expensive for an alloy bike, and pedal kickback can be an issue on really rough terrain.

Orange Five S custom review

avr. 2017 · Guy Kesteven

Heavy and slow climbing but its ability to involve and absorb you in a ride is simply unsurpassed. Buy if you want every ride to be as rowdy and memorable as a mountain bike stag party

Points forts
  • Updated geometry and suspension are superb for full-gas, full-involvement fun

  • Fantastically bombproof, UK built, UK optimised frame

  • Impressively cost-effective, custom upgradeable kit package.

Points faibles
  • Twangy rider-reactive swingarm and hefty weight
