Résumé
The Orange Five is a highly capable and fun trail bike, praised for its lively and precise handling, effective suspension, and British craftsmanship. It excels in a variety of terrain with a stable and predictable ride, though some minor issues with comfort and component details are noted. Overall, it's seen as a versatile and enjoyable option in the trail category.
Lively and playful ride feel
Stable and predictable handling
Effective suspension performance
British-made craftsmanship and reliability
Versatile capability on various terrains
Less forgiving on mistakes
Uncomfortable grips and brake pad issues
Suboptimal bottle cage placement
Slack seat angle affecting climbing comfort
Fantastically fun but highly capable trail bike
The silent ride on Five is impressive too but overall it’s the fun, precise ride of the Orange Five that sparkles.
The new Orange Five takes a step away from the trail geometry of its previous incarnations.

The Orange Five certainly isn’t new, but the Halifax brand has made significant changes for 2020 that pep up this trail riding classic.
More progressive suspension and a host of geometry and size changes make the Five more fun and capable. Looks better too with improved cable routing and tubing shapes.
Expensive for an alloy bike, and pedal kickback can be an issue on really rough terrain.
