Résumé

The Norco Sight is a versatile enduro bike praised for its plush suspension and balanced riding position, making it comfortable on long rides and capable on both climbs and descents. However, it faces criticism for its weight and handling in tight corners, with some noting reliability issues in electric models. The bike shines on machine-built trails and steep descents but may feel cumbersome for beginners or on less challenging terrain.

Pros
  • Plush suspension for long rides

  • Balanced riding position

  • Capable on climbs and descents

  • Great for machine-built trails

  • High-speed stability

Cons
  • Weight penalty, especially in electric models

  • Cumbersome in tight corners

  • Reliability issues in electric models

  • Front end difficult to lift over obstacles

  • Battery and cable routing could be improved

Key Quotes
The Norco Sight provides a balanced riding position which, together with the plush suspension, allows you to stay comfortable on long rides.

The Norco Sight VLT C 29 eMTB is a great ebike for all around trail riding, and I’d say it really shines when taken to MTB oriented trails that permit electric assist bikes.

With its limousine wheelbase, hefty weight and big Maxxis tyres, the Sight VLT 29er is (unsurprisingly) ridiculously stable.

MBR
Norco Sight VLT C2 27.5 ebike review - MBR

juin 2020 · Paul Burwell

The Norco Sight VLT C2 27.5 is the power-assisted version of Norco's award-winning trail bike. Here's the final verdict on our long term test bike.

Points forts
  • Supple and sensitive rear suspension, well-balanced frame (when new) looks a million dollars.

  • Whopping 630Wh battery offers extended range and reduced frequency between charge cycles.

  • Sorted component array out of the box: short stem, wide bar, soft-compound Maxxis 3C tyres, size-specific dropper post.

Points faibles
  • Unreliability is the Achilles’ heel of most e-bikes, and the Norco has suffered more than most with two extended periods of inactivity.

  • The lack of a chain device has caused untold damage to the underside of the carbon frame.

  • To keep it in place, the rubber charging port cover needs a more secure attachment and a tether, so you don’t lose it.
