Résumé
The Norco Sight is a versatile trail bike that excels in aggressive terrain with its smart geometry and quality components. It offers a plush and supportive ride, thanks to its Advanced Ride Technology (ART) suspension, but some models may feel sluggish in tight, technical areas. The bike's handling is snappy and lively at speed, making it a competent descender, though some riders note issues with drivetrain noise and component compatibility.
Excels in aggressive terrain
Smart geometry with slack headtube angle and short chainstays
Advanced Ride Technology (ART) suspension for a plush ride
Quality components for the price
Snappy handling and increased manoeuvrability
Feels sluggish in tight, technical terrain
Noisy drivetrain and dropped chains
Component compatibility issues
Some models have a flexy fork
Heavier than comparable bikes
when pointed downhill, this bike rules
The Sight is a particularly competent technical descender, and it gave me the confidence to tackle (and clean) a steep rock face on one of my regular trails for the first time.
The ART suspension simply gets on with the job at hand
This is a bike that makes you want to flick the rear wheel about like a cut snake, and generally go over, not through, whatever is in front of your wheels.
The frame has incredible torsional rigidity and superb handling.

Brutally steep rock rollers, tight bits of north shore, huge jumps, technical root sections and never-ending flow – do trails get any more diverse than in BC? We temporarily adopted the idyllic region as our base for three weeks, seizing the opportunity to put the Norco Sight C7.1 through the wringer. Born and bred in […]

An absolute bag-load of fun.
Will jump, skid and drift till your face cramps from smiling.
Cane Creek shock is complicated to setup.
No tubeless valves or rims strips included.
Price is a little steep we feel.

Norco is another bike brand that has embraced 27.5" wheels wholeheartedly. The Canadian company offers mid-size wheel bikes for virtually every discipline, with the majority of them finding a home in the Sight line of 140-mm-travel all-mountain bikes.

We would be hard pressed to find a bike in this class that outperforms the Sight

The Norco Sight Carbon Forma was the most polarizing bike in the women’s test, eliciting a different opinion from each rider. But one assessment was consistent–when pointed downhill, this bike rules.

The Norco Sight is a well balanced bike with supple suspension and 140mm of travel front and rear — but is it solid enough to cut it as a modern trail bike?
Supple suspension on the rear
Balanced handling, even as you go up in sizing
The fork is too spindly
Only medium sizes left now in the UK

In the back corner of my local bike shop sits a 2007 Norco A-Line, a colossal black beast of a bike with 9 inches of travel, a massive dual crown Marzocchi fork, and enough metal framework to support the space shuttle—a bike built for kids who grew up watching low res video of Bender, Schley and Simmons flinging themselves off any cliff they could find between the North Shore and Moab.
