Résumé
The Giant Reign is a formidable enduro bike that excels in downhill performance and stability, with a plush suspension system that generates significant traction. However, it requires fine-tuning to unlock its full potential and can feel harsh over rough terrain. While it's a confident descender, its climbing efficiency and comfort on flatter trails are areas where it falls short.
Excellent downhill stability and traction
Plush suspension for aggressive riding
Top-of-the-line components as standard
Confidence-inspiring geometry on steep tracks
Effective suspension adjustment for climbs
Suspension setup requires fine-tuning
Harsh ride quality over rough terrain
Less efficient on climbs and flatter trails
Firm saddle noted as uncomfortable
Sluggish handling at slow speeds
The Reign Advanced is one of the top-rated bikes in the current crop of 160mm machines.
We expected it to be a ripper descender, but we didn’t expect it to make us feel invincible!
The bike rides through rock gardens as if on rails

The 2018 Giant Reign Advanced 0 has class leading sizing and geometry plus a race-tuned coil shock and revised suspension linkage.
The best just got better
Shock remote is fragile and hard to position

The Reign 2 offers great geometry and seriously capable suspension though the low bar height won't suit everyone. With a couple of upgrades it could be a serious contender though. Buy if you want up-to-date geometry and a lively suspension feel but are happy to make a couple of component upgrades to make it even better
Sorted geometry, suspension feels livelier and more supportive than previous generation, great tyre choice and comes set up tubeless
Low bar height, gappy freehub, brakes lack power and modulation on long drags

The grin. The grin knows. The grin can appear anytime, when you press or twist too hard on the throttle, at the oh-so-serious work meeting, when you get a call from the mad mate from your murky past who tells you that they are in town, or when the late-night shots arrive. The grin knows. The grin is never wrong. The grin doesn’t know what is correct or what is not, he or she just hides away, waiting for when […]

Let’s skip the features of the new Reign for now (click here to get the lowdown on features with the new model) and talk more about how it goes in the dirt. Our first ride on the Reign was a big loop that would take in just about any style of trail, from steep rocky chutes, …
Incredibly stable descender.
Complete package for hard riding.
Best looking Reign yet!
Hard work on flatter trails.
Climbs meandering trails like Monday morning.

The Reign hadn’t been updated since 2014. For model year 2018, Giant gave this best selling bike some serious updates. - Mtbr.com
