Résumé
The Giant Trance is a versatile trail bike praised for its efficient Maestro suspension system, offering smooth and controlled performance on both climbs and descents. It features a stiff frame and responsive handling, making it a strong all-rounder in its category. While generally stable and forgiving, some riders may find it less exciting for aggressive riding.
Efficient Maestro suspension system
Stiff frame and responsive handling
Good value and competitive pricing
Versatile for various trail conditions
Some cable routing issues causing rattles
Suspension can feel bouncy during out-of-saddle pedaling
Stock components like tires and grips may need upgrading
It’s so stiff, in fact, that Giant claims there’s no need for a through-axle. We still kinda’ want one.
Despite top quality carbon frame and suspension, it’s impressively well-priced, especially compared to the boutique brands that it matches in terms of technology and performance.
Giant are back to their butt-kicking ways and the competitively priced Trance 1 ($3399) is tipped to be the biggest mover in the new Giant line up.

This review is part of a Group […]

Giant’s new Trance X 29er is effortlessly capable. In any rider’s hands, challenging terrain seems to disappear under its tires. Our testers, however, found lots of room for debate.
