Résumé
The Cannondale SuperSix gravel bike is praised for its aggressive geometry, superb handling, and versatility across mixed terrains. It offers a magical combination of stability and agility, making it a favorite for both racing and long-distance rides. However, some reviews note issues with proprietary components and a firm ride quality.
Aggressive geometry for speed
Superb handling and stability
Versatile for both racing and gravel
Large tire clearance up to 45mm
Comfortable for long distances
Proprietary components limit customization
Firm ride quality may not suit all
Some reports of creaky bottom brackets
The SuperSix EVO CX keeps all the race-winning pedigree of the SuperX, updates the styling and offers better aerodynamics and more tire clearance.
It’s a visceral machine, not an isolation chamber.
The SuperSix Evo has long held a reputation for being a gold standard race bike.

The SuperSix EVO SE sees Cannondale expand their model range with a second gravel bike, complementing the off-road Topstone series with a model that is designed for fast rides on hard-packed gravel. So far, the SuperSix EVO SE is only available in one build – will it be good enough to stand up to the 18 best gravel bikes of the year?
Balanced, intuitive handling
Good design reminiscent of a road bike
Frame is a very good basis for all-round use
Too heavy
Narrow handlebars without flare
Aluminium wheelset limits performance

The Cannondale Supersix EVO CX replaces the venerable SuperX and intends to cover both cyclocross and gravel racing. Does it do a good job?
Out-front geometry provides confidence on descents and quick steering
Significant tire clearance (33mm with 13mm mud clearance, up to 45mm)
Easy to maintain control line routing
Responsive acceleration and racy feel
Attractive design with smooth lines
D-shaped seatpost aids aerodynamics and saddle orientation in spills
Lifetime frame/fork warranty
Proprietary components (AI rear end, BB83A, Cannondale crankset) limit compatibility
Creaking noise during hard acceleration (seated, from BB or seatpost clamp area)
Heavy wheelset (1900+ grams) not ideal for racing
No rack or fender mounts
Slightly stiffer rear end compared to previous SuperX
Control line rattle in downtube on bumpy terrain
Reduced front-wheel traction on steep climbs or off-camber turns

Filling a need for gravel speed

A star-spangled, red, white, and blue paint job for the US national champion's bike.

The outstanding geometry and tire clearance comes with a big catch, though.
Quick handling blended with excellent stability, superb pedaling and front-end stiffness, decent ride quality, sleek aesthetics.
Asymmetrical design and wide Q-factor will be dealbreakers for many, creaky bottom bracket, slow-engaging rear hub, no fender mounts, proprietary seatpost.

Is the 105 version of our 2020 Bike of the Year another winner?
Sublime handling
Beautiful yet rapid on-road feel
