Résumé
The BMC Agonist is a cross-country bike that blends speed and endurance, offering a stable and efficient ride with a modern, aggressive geometry. It's praised for its suspension performance, which provides a good balance between comfort and support, though some reviews note challenges with full travel due to its progressive nature. The bike stands out for its ability to cover long distances comfortably, but the lack of a dropper post and some component choices have been points of criticism.
Stable and efficient ride suitable for long distances
Aggressive geometry with modern design
Good suspension balance between comfort and support
Lack of a dropper post
Progressive rear suspension can limit full travel
Some component choices criticized
The BMC Agonist is more evidence that the world of XC is changing.
BMC’s suspension is particularly sorted in this regard and it almost feels like it could do away with the complication and weight of the remote lockout system altogether.
Cross Country pedigree but with a persuasion towards endurance is the target of the Agonist.

Add a little travel, slacken the head angle, maybe fit a dropper post too, and you have a bike that is still capable of holding its own on the XC race course but is altogether more versatile, more fun and more comfortable.. .

XC courses are getting more technical so BMC addresses the category with a very fast and capable machine. And it's comfortable enough to handle the long courses of Leadville and Downieville. - Mtbr.com
