Résumé

The Berria Bravo is a lightweight cross-country bike with a focus on efficiency and comfort, featuring a unique SOFTEX Suspension System that offers 28mm of travel. It excels in handling and ride quality, with updated geometry for improved maneuverability, though some reviews note limitations in tire clearance and handling on steeper terrain. The bike is compared favorably to models like the Trek Supercaliber and Canyon Exceed, offering a blend of hardtail efficiency and soft-tail comfort.

Pros
  • Lightweight frame with high-modulus carbon construction

  • SOFTEX Suspension System for improved comfort

  • Updated geometry for better handling and maneuverability

  • Effective over small bumps and forest roads

  • Quick and covers ground effectively on longer rides

Cons
  • 2.4in max tire clearance

  • Slack headtube angle causes handling to drift on steeper climbs

  • No standard dropper seatpost, reduces travel if fitted

  • Press-fit BB92 bottom bracket shell may not be welcome for everyone

  • Limited crankarm length options

Key Quotes
Despite the 28mm of flex that's built into the frame, the Bravo still has the aggressive kick and sharp handling that you would expect from a cross-country race hardtail.

Berria has entered the soft tail market (yep – it’s a thing now), and its refigured Bravo looks to have enough compliance to take the edge off for most cross-country racing.

Berria Bravo 6 mountain bike review

nov. 2023

The Berria Bravo is a cross-country mountain bike with 28mm of rear travel. It blends the characteristics of a full suspension and a hardtail bike through engineered flex in the frame and seatpost. It provides benefits with improved comfort being one of them but falls short in other areas, including pricing. Even though the suspension may work well, and the geometry is designed with technical riding in mind, a dropper isn’t standard, and you will lose half of that 28mm travel should you choose to fit one. Read on to see how it places among the best mountain bikes.
