Resumen

The Rocky Mountain Slayer is a versatile cross-country bike that excels in both climbing and descending, thanks to its lightweight frame, active suspension, and neutral handling. It's praised for its ability to tackle a variety of terrains with ease, though some riders note a steep seat angle can make the cockpit feel cramped on fast descents. The bike's performance is further enhanced by its stiff frame and efficient pedaling, making it a standout in its category.

Pros
  • Lightweight frame enhances climbing efficiency

  • Active suspension performs well across diverse terrains

  • Neutral handling improves cornering and stability

  • Versatile for both climbing and descending

  • Stiff frame ensures precise tracking

Cons
  • Steep seat angle may feel cramped on descents

  • Can feel sluggish on flat trails due to slack geometry

  • Front wheel lifts easily on steep climbs

The feeling was similar to that of surfing fat skis in deep snow in contrast to wiggling down the hill on pinner skis.

Tested: Rocky Mountain Slayer 70

sept 2012

Slayin' the Trail on Rocky Mountains Do-It-All Trail Bike, Pedaling up Cement Creek Trail we gained elevation as the sun dropped close to the ridges. Topping out Hunter hill above 12,000 feet we gazed towards Teocalli and Pearl Peak in the breath taking alpenglow.
