Resumen
The Privateer 141 is a versatile and aggressive trail bike that excels in both climbing and descending, offering a well-rounded performance with its progressive geometry and capable suspension. It's praised for its value, durability, and fun ride quality, though it's noted for being on the heavier side and may not fit shorter riders perfectly.
Progressive, future-proof geometry
Superb climbing ability
Plush and supportive suspension
Competitive pricing
Versatile and fun on any trail
Riders shorter than 5-foot-3 may not fit the smallest frame
Not the lightest frame on the market
Suspension can get overwhelmed over tech at high speeds
The Privateer 141 is not only a worthy addition to the mid-travel 29er category, it fills a space that will always need filling no matter how crowded the market gets: a bike that is well-priced, well-designed, well-rounded and damn fun.
Who said versatility has to be boring?
It’s exhilarating!
Privateer has proven that you don’t need to be an online behemoth to produce a competitively priced trail bike
The 141 is nothing short of well-rounded, and it’s the bike’s clear, defining feature that sets it apart from its bigger traveled sibling.

The Privateer 141 brings everything we liked about the 161 but puts it in a more trail friendly package. While it may not be the prettiest or lightest of bikes out there the Privateer 141’s user friendliness and excellent kit list, combined with its forward-thinking geometry result in a bike that's as versatile as it is fun, making it one of the best trail mountain bikes you can buy. Is this the ultimate trail bike?

From the park to the podium, the Privateer 141 does it all

Privateer 141 SLX/XT review: UK-designed trail bike promises to bring same big sizing and aggressive geometry concept as its 161.
Commanding riding position
Too much chain slap

Small U.K. brands tend to build bikes for shredders, and the Privateer 141 is no different. Thing is, though, it's for evereyone else too.
Progressive, future-proof geometry
Specced with practical and durable parts
Riders shorter than 5-foot-3 may not be able to fit the smallest frame
Suspension platform isn’t as sophisticated as competitors

First we built it, then we rode it. Now we are giving it away!
Confidently dominates downhills
Incredible climbing prowess
Suspension tracks in the rough without feeling overly plowish
Look and aim cornering qualities at speed
Price to performance ratio
Simple, smart frame details
Not exactly a leisure cruiser
A bit long for dirt jump style parks

The Privateer 141 is fast and capable, although it's a little rough around the edges.
Stable and balanced geo and suspension
Much more bike in real life than on paper
A lot of bike for the money, if you like aggressive riding
Pretty damn weighty frame
Frame details have room for improvement - cable routing, sharp edges, frame protection

abr 2021 · Robert Johnston
The balance present in the Privateer 141 leads to predictable and efficient manners across the full spectrum of riding for most riders.
Incredible balance
Aggressive geometry
Firm pedaling platform
Great value and spec
Encourages behavior beyond capabilities
Unwieldy on the tightest trails
Heavy for its class

The Privateer 141 is ready after a year of teases. And we've had the chance to ride the affordable enduro-inspired alloy trail bike hard!
