Resumen
The Intense Tazer is a lightweight enduro eMTB praised for its VPP suspension that excels in maintaining traction and handling 'terrible trails' with ease. It offers a solid build and competitive pricing, though some reviews note a lack of suspension sensitivity and front-end support. The bike's geometry and mullet wheelsize combo are highlights, but battery life and placement are common concerns.
Lightweight for an eMTB
Excellent VPP suspension traction
Competitive pricing and build kit
Mullet wheelsize combo enhances handling
Progressive geometry
Limited 504Wh battery life
Suspension lacks sensitivity
Front end lacks support
Battery placement affects jump confidence
Rear end can feel skittish
The Tazer is VERY light. It’s 49 pounds in stock form.
For this style of riding really nasty trails, the VPP suspension did a great job.
Intense has put together an amazing parts package on the entry-level Tazer 279 Expert.
We simply couldn’t find a balanced set-up that let us ride the Tazer with confidence in every situation.

The 2021 Intense Tazer Pro blends the gap between AM pedaling performance and Enduro capable geometry, we love the way we sit “In” the bike.

The feel of being “In” the bike
So fun to corner
Harsh rear end suspension
Bulbous downtube

Launched in 2018 the Intense Tazer was ahead of its time and it retains the full carbon frame, progressive sizing, mullet wheels and competitive pricing.

The beast has arrived! At 9am one morning early in December a courier truck rolled up to V-Sports’ (Intense’s Aussie base) headquarters to deliver the very first Tazer to arrive in the country. Having been offered the exclusive first review we arrived at V-Sport at 2pm that very same day to collect the bike and by 4pm we were out on the trails clicking it straight into Boost mode! Usually, making the acquaintance of a Tazer is a very unpleasant experience – thankfully here that’s not the case. The Intense Tazer will electrify you, but in a very positive way.NEW: Before we get into the review, we would like to tell you about our latest print edition. Excellent suspension
Balanced and predictable handling
Confidence inspiring
Rattling battery on our test bike
Cumbersome in tight sections

Additionally, this wasn’t helped by the 45mm stem, which on a bike like this felt rather long — dropping it to a 35mm should aid cornering feel and ease the ability to weight the front wheel on loose terrain, boosting cornering confidence.. .

Intense's new Tazer e-MTB is an impressive debut into battery-assisted bikes for the Californian brand, mixing a full carbon frame with aggressive geometry, mismatched wheel sizes and a Shimano drive unit. It's hugely capable both uphill and down but not without a few quirks. It’s good to see the Tazer name back in the Intense lineup! Though other than two wheels, this new version has practically nothing in common with its 4X racing predecessor. The Tazer is the very first eMTB from Intense, though its level of refinement would suggest otherwise. If you’ve followed the Instagram account of Intense …
Absolutely striking bike.
Initial ride impressions are very positive.
Ok, it's very expensive.
