Resumen
The Giant Trance is celebrated for its lightweight and nimble design, offering exceptional suspension performance with the Maestro system that excels in technical climbs and descents. Its geometry and build make it versatile for a wide range of trails, though some reviews note areas for improvement in efficiency and component specs. The bike's value and capability are frequently highlighted, making it a strong contender in the trail category.
Lightweight and nimble design
Exceptional Maestro suspension performance
Versatile for a wide range of trails
High value and capability
Maestro suspension less efficient than some competitors
Standover clearance could be improved
Component specs may not meet all expectations
The Trance Advanced SX is essentially the hopped-up 'works' model in their 2014 line up
Set and forget suspension, blisteringly fast carbon-rimmed acceleration and a naturally surefooted, slack and long geometry make the Trance one of the best high-speed have-a-go-hero machines around
The Giant Trance Advanced SX comes very close to fulfilling the prophecy of ‘Uno Bicicletta’.

Giant Trance Advanced 27.5 2 review
Rock-solid durability and reliability meant that with even minimal servicing the Trance was always ready to go
Suspension is easy to set up and get to a good place, but there’s more potential in the shock tuning
Long, slack geometry makes it a very capable bike on more demanding trails
The Trance really needs a shorter stem and wider handlebar out of the box to support the capability of the frame and geometry
The Overdrive 2 tapered head tube — thankfully it’s been dropped on 2015 bikes as it severely limited stem choice
A carbon frame is nice, but eats massively into the budget and the finishing kit, wheels and suspension take a hit

The Trance Advanced, from the Taiwanese bike powerhouse Giant, is the only 27.5″ bike in the whole group test. With 140mm travel, it offers 1cm more than the competition, which combined with the smaller wheels should be a fun package on the trails. Does the concept work out? This review is part of a Group […]

With sorted suspension and brilliant kit for the cash, this sets a benchmark for top end trail value

The Holy Grail of mountain bike ownership is finding the ‘one bike’. We all like to dream that it’s out there – a garage-decluttering, wallet-saving, partner-soothing super bike that can spin out a 50km cross country ride with the same ease as it will demolish your local downhill track. Dream crushing time: it doesn’t exist yet. So what …
Light.
Exceptional suspension.
Amazingly versatile.
Wheels aren't as stiff as some.

When Giant looked at the math and real-world trail analysis, they determined that the benefits of 27.5-inch wheels were profound enough to justify

Few bike companies have forged more boldly into the 27.5-inch-wheel market than Giant Bicycles, and the company's new Trance Advanced SX 27.5 certainly ignited the passion of our 2014 Bible of Bike Tests crew.
