Its Reynolds 725 steel frame offers a smooth, stable ride quality, though it's noted for being heavier than some competitors. The bike excels in long-haul rides and commuting, with a design that balances traditional aesthetics with modern endurance geometry.
Classic and timeless looks
Versatile for endurance, commuting, and light touring
Comfortable and smooth ride quality
Stable and neutral handling
Full set of mounts for racks and mudguards
Heavier than carbon and alloy competitors
Weight noticeable on climbs
Some components may not match the frame's quality
'Steel is what Genesis is known for,'
'The ride quality is good too, with the chassis offering enough stiffness to feel dynamic in the corners, or when quickly changing direction, yet supple enough to keep you feeling comfortable and cosseted on poor road surfaces.'
'Forget about weight – it's kind of irrelevant for this type of bike. If you want a comfortable, relaxing ride, from a bike that can deliver the speed when you want it, the Equilibrium is a very good choice.'

The unbranded wheelset is actually a pairing of Jalco disc rims and Formula six-bolt disc hubs, and the big tyres are a weight trade off I’m happy to accept for the ride quality, but I wish they were fitted to a lighter set of hoops to give the Equilibrium a bit more spark when the road starts to rise.. .
