Blix Vika+ Flex Review 2022

Jun 2022 · Sam Gross

Blix Vika+ Flex Review: Overview What’s painted British racing green, folds in half and rides with all the enthusiasm and excitement of a peppy little go kart? The Blix Vika+ Flex electric folding bike does. In this Blix Vika+ Flex review, Electric Bike Report takes an in-depth look at the Santa Cruz-based electric bike company’s […]

Highs
  • It feels right that a folding bike — a quintessentially British thing — is painted British racing green.

  • The handling is very fun. The Vika+ feels like a cross between an e-bike and a go kart.

  • The battery life is in the upper echelon for folding e-bikes. These aren’t designed to be ridden long distances, but you could on the Vika+ Flex.

  • At 55 lbs, it’s reasonably light; light enough you could carry it up a short flight of stairs or roll it onto public transport.

  • The brakes stop impressively quick despite being mechanical disc brakes. This is likely thanks to the bike’s descently light weight.

Lows
  • The cockpit is a little cramped for taller riders. I’m a lanky 6’1”, and I found myself scooching uncomfortably far back on the seat to give myself more room.

  • The folding mechanism is a little stiff, so you do have to put some oomph into the hinge.

Price: $1699.00 | Model Year: 2021 | An elegant folding electric bike sold in four classy colors with matching fork, rear rack, and aluminum alloy fenders. Velo brand ergonomic grips, Selle Royal gel saddle, and wider 2.4

Observations
  • An elegant folding electric bike sold in four classy colors with matching fork, rear rack, and aluminum alloy fenders. Velo brand ergonomic grips, Selle Royal gel saddle, and wider 2.4" CST tires provide enhanced comfort. Higher power, improved battery controller design, the bike has bottle cage bosses!

  • Excellent integrated lights front and rear. The headlight points where you steer and offers side cutouts to keep you visible from more angles, the tail light uses two LEDs and goes bright when either brake lever is pulled. Anti-puncture tire casing and reflective stripes expand your visual footprint.

  • Adjustable height stem and seat post allow the bike to fit a wide range of riders. Intuitive folding design, sturdy aluminum alloy folding pedals from Wellgo, improved magnetic clasp that keeps the bike from rattling around, bike can be wheeled when folded. USB charging on display. Trigger throttle and pedal assist.

  • Heavier than some folding ebikes due to the fenders, lights, and rack. Seat may need to be raised to remove battery pack from frame. Limited seven speed 14-28 tooth gear range and basic Shimano Tourney derailleur. Sold direct, requires some unboxing and adjustment vs. dealer.
