Like the truck from Hyundai, some nuances of the CF Racer1 seem born out of inexperience in the market, but that might not matter to this bike's target...

Price: $995.00 | Model Year: 2023 | Ride1UP has delivered incredible value with the Portola; $1000 e-bikes almost never have a collection of parts this good.
Ride1UP has delivered incredible value with the Portola; $1000 e-bikes almost never have a collection of parts this good.
The folding frame is small enough to offer a low standover height (18.2 in.) which makes it great for smaller riders. Some taller riders may have trouble getting enough leg extension. Ordering a longer seatpost through a shop is possible. The Portola is easy to fold and unfold and features safety features to make unfolding it safe and foolproof.
The 750W, 65Nm torque, brushless, geared hub motor is very peppy. Not only does it climb well, but it has terrific acceleration from a dead stop. A 24-magnet cadence sensor makes the motor much more responsive than we typically experience with other e-bikes with cadence sensors. Most have 12 magnets, but this 24 magnet sensor is more than twice as fast to react.
Ride1UP ships the Portola as a Class 2 e-bike. It can be unlocked so that it can reach Class 3 speeds—a maximum of 28 mph on pedal assist. It can also be set up for Class 1 operation in case throttles aren’t allowed in your community. The 8-speed Shimano Altus drivetrain features a wide gear range (almost 300 percent) and one more gear than we typically see in this price range. CHECK BEST PRICE

Sweet Simplicity: This Commuter E-Bike is Straightforward, Practical, and Fun! Many of the e-bikes we’ve reviewed here at Electric Bike Report offer a variety of specialized features; phone mounts, electronic horns, high/low beam headlights, etc. The Ride1UP LMT’D V2, on the other hand, keeps things basic but functional. In our review, we discuss the real
A reserved level of pedal assist with an analog bike feel thanks to a torque sensor.
Great range from the efficient motor and 672 Wh battery.
Overall simplicity with all the necessities for an effective bike with no distracting bells and whistles.
A comfortable ride with a cushy saddle, high rider placement, and wide, stable 27.5” x 2.4” tires.
Highly customizable through the settings menu – switch from Class 2 to Class 3, program PAS settings, etc.
Great stopping ability from the Tektro M275 hydraulic brake system.
Effective gearing even at 28 mph with a 48T chainring and 12-32T cassette.
As with most Ride1UP e-bikes we have tested, the LMT’D seems sized for shorter riders. Those in the 6’+ range may feel a bit cramped.
Most of Ride1UP’s models include brake lights, but the LMT’D V2 does not. We encourage the brand to add them in the future.

This lightweight carbon fiber gravel/road e-bike features great specs, responsive handling, and an unbeatable price! With its carbon fiber frame and drop bars, Ride1UP has effectively raised the bar (pun intended) with the CF Racer 1. This entry-level gravel/road e-bike comes at a price point that had us picking our jaws up off the floor.
Extremely lightweight and nimble with a total weight of 29 lbs!
Premium construction at a seriously affordable price. We’d expect a price around $1,000 more for a carbon fiber frame elsewhere!
Subtle and smooth pedal assist up to 28 mph with the 250W Bafang rear-hub motor.
Available in both gravel- and road-specific configurations.
Decked out with a full complement of reliable name brand components – SRAM, Bafang, Samsung, Selle Royal, etc.
Includes a tasteful color display with easy-to-read info.
A clean, stealthy design with a seamless carbon fiber frame, fully internal battery, and a tiny motor.
The limited number of frame sizes and monocoque carbon fiber stem/handlebar unit combo means fit customization is limited.
Internal wiring requires additional labor/cost when performing routine maintenance through a mechanic.
