Salsa Fargo 32 Review: Old Dog, New Tricks

abr 2026 · By Neil Beltchenko

In Neil's Salsa Fargo 32 review, he shares feedback on the company's attempt at fitting this new wheel size into a beloved model...

Highs
  • Carries speed and momentum extremely well

  • Rolls over obstacles better than smaller wheels

  • Great for long-distance riding and bikepacking

  • Stable and planted at speed

  • Full-size run (S–XL) is rare for a 32″ platform

  • Practical frame features (mounts, threaded BB, external routing)

  • Solid weight for the complete build (23.8 pounds)

Lows
  • Not very playful, prefers to track straight

  • Harder to maneuver, especially in tight terrain

  • Slower acceleration from a stop

  • Climbing at low speeds feels more demanding

  • Gearing feels off, especially mid-cassette

  • Stiff ride quality, lacking vertical compliance

  • Limited 32″ parts availability at the time of publishing

The New Salsa Moraine C All-Mountain eMTB Gets Lighter with Full Carbon Frame

abr 2026 · Ron Frazelle

Salsa sent us the new Moraine C XO AXS to test, and when it got here, we were stoked at how good it looked, and it rode as good as it looked

Highs
  • Lightweight for an eMTB (44lbs 14oz with pedals and cage)

  • Climbs great and descends like a bat outta hell

  • Smooth and intuitive Fazua Ride 60 assist that rewards high cadence

  • Rides like an analog bike, very similar to Salsa Blackthorn

  • Split-pivot suspension is responsive, supportive, and active under braking

  • Good battery range for a lightweight system (e.g., 24+ miles with 1500ft climb still had ~50% battery)

  • On-bike cargo capacity with mounts for tools, tube, pump, and water bottle

Lows
  • SRAM Code SLV brakes lack modulation and feel on/off

  • Creaking noise when pedaling under load (pre-production sample)

  • Fazua firmware update requires laptop and USB-C cable—inconvenient

  • Ring controller occasionally finicky, takes a few seconds to switch modes

  • Motor sometimes fails to turn on after sitting; needs charger touch to wake (likely bad controller)

  • High price: $10,999 USD for XO AXS model
