The Orange Five certainly isn’t new, but the Halifax brand has made significant changes for 2020 that pep up this trail riding classic.
More progressive suspension and a host of geometry and size changes make the Five more fun and capable. Looks better too with improved cable routing and tubing shapes.
Expensive for an alloy bike, and pedal kickback can be an issue on really rough terrain.

Simple suspension won’t suit everyone, but visceral communication and excellent geometry create an addictive aggro player. Buy if you want a rough-diamond cult classic that loudly restates the merits of personality over polished perfection
Long and slack shape is great for flat-out descending
Intuitively interactive suspension reaction to pedalling/braking
Reasonable value complete bikes
Pedal bob, impact kickback and brake jack will irritate some riders
Flexy when pedalled or cornered really hard – though that has its benefits
