Great kit, proportions and ride feel help make the new alloy Mega Pro a formidable machine over any terrain
Solid spec sheet
Confident, ground-hugging ride, especially in the rough stuff
Nice angles and good shape
More pop than the last bike but still not as lively as some big travel enduro rigs

The Nukeproof Mega 290 Carbon serves up a lot of mini-dh-bike performance, but with none of the too-deep, too-vague suspension.
Burly frame feel
Highly precise for a long-travel 29er
Excellent, well thought out climbing geometry
Works well at high and low speeds
Decent value
Can be hard to get in some countries

The 2021 Nukeproof Mega 290 Alloy is a hard hitting all-mountain 29er ready to tame your local tech. It's not light but pedals supremely well, while the progressive geometry makes it a great all-rounder as well as an enduro shredder. Five things that weren't cool - until enduro happened Nine cheapskate alternatives to proper cycling products Five ways to survive winter riding if you hate mud The Mega 290 Alloy Comp is the base model of the two aluminum bikes in the lineup, and comes in at a penny under £2,700.

The new Nukeproof Mega 290C Factory is part of range that gets a travel boost, carbon models and Sam Hill-honed geometry.
Calm and composed at all speeds
Michelin tyres not ideal in all conditions

The size gaps between bikes are a little odd, with the M size going down to 455mm reach and the XL jumping right up to 515mm, so it’s wise to check exactly which size would be the best fit and if you’d need to change any components or setup if you’re a bit in between sizes..
A fast, stable and predictable bike
Solid and dependable spec for the price
Racing pedigree, if you’re into that
Needs to be up to speed to bring it alive
Water bottle in the firing line if you choose to run one
