Summary
The Felt AR is a versatile aero road bike that excels in speed and handling, particularly in windy conditions, with a design optimized for low yaw angles. It offers a comfortable ride thanks to features like a split seatpost and adjustable saddle clamp, though it is noted for being heavier than some competitors. The bike's contemporary features, such as thru-axles and disc brakes, along with its ability to accommodate wider tires, make it a user-friendly option for riders seeking performance and comfort.
Fast and efficient in windy conditions
Comfortable ride with split seatpost and adjustable saddle clamp
Contemporary features like thru-axles and disc brakes
Accommodates wider tires for added comfort
User-friendly design with easy maintenance
Heavier than some competitors
Vague handling at slower speeds
Finicky clamping mechanism for seatpost
Limited handlebar height adjustment due to internal cable routing
"The handlebar can be as personal a touch-point as a saddle," says Alexander Soria, director of product development at Felt.
the Felt AR seems to hold speed for fun
Not since the Venge ViAS, which I tested back in 2016, have I been so impressed by a bike’s quickness off the mark.
The new AR feels taut, responsive and exciting out on the road.

Felt unveiled two models of the AR Advanced, available in either a Shimano Ultegra or a Shimano Ultegra Di2 build. They have two color options for the build, white or blue. A frameset only option is available in a gray shade as well. The new AR will begin shipping on March 31st. We expect the higher-end Felt Racing Design models that accompany the Advanced tier frames, to be announced around the same time.
